Why are US “free clinics” so called?
My friend from the States informs me that said clinics charge a consultancy fee of $40-$60.
Free is defined in the dictionary as being “without charge”.
Why do they have this name then?

Mine only charges $25 and I’m there every other week or so.

They used to be free free-clinics in the sixties. Jeez. Well, I shouldn’t be surprised they cost now.

In these clinics, you are FREE to come and go as you please, you are FREE to express your emotions, you are FREE to relate your problems.. etc, etc.
