Who can tell me what 2 Chronicles 7:14 states? And can You see the equation?

How many numerical statments on both sides of the word “THEN?” Are they answered in order?

Is it true for today? Do you apply it to yourself today?

It is true that there is a rough balancing of the verbs in the two halves of the verse, but not a complete one-for-one correspondence:

humble (opening verb, perhaps qualifying the rest)

PRAY

seek my face

turn from **their wicked ways**

—-

HEAR from heaven

forgive **their sin**

heal their land

The parallel of the main/leading verbs (pray–>hear) is sort of expected, and follows the pattern laid out in Solomon’s prayer in chapter six (which God is here answering).

‘Forgive…sin’ is in answer to ‘turn from ….wicked ways’. This is another common feature of several of Solomon’s requests (four of the seven scenarios Solomon lays out involve sin and repentance for it).

The last set really does not directly correspond (though it DOES give the verse a nice rhetorical and rhythmic balance).

‘Seek my face’ is sort of an expansion on ‘pray’ (a bit stronger and more personal, desiring God’s presence and favor).

‘Heal their land’ is related, in THIS case, to ‘forgive their sin’, because God is referring to situations where the prayer and repentance follows his having sent specific judgments on their land –listed in the previous verse– which he here promises to remove. (The three judgments summarize a range — withholding rain, sending locust, sending pestilence.)

The ‘personal application’ probably goes a bit outside this particular category, but I would say this. There is a GENERAL way in which this applies to people who believe in God today, viz., that God will be faithful to forgive and restore his people when they repent. But we need to be very careful about trying to apply the SPECIFICS too precisely. The exchange of 2 Chr 6-7 concerns the kingdom of Israel under the Davidic kings in the LAND that he had specifically given them.

Is this the right verse? What exactly are you asking, it’s pretty self explanitory, obey God and he will take care of you. Otherwise he’s just gonna let us pretty much take care of ourselves.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (New King James Version)

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I don’t see any numerical statements. I can tell you that it means we will be forgiven if we change our sinful ways.
