whats it mean when you are …. through smoking mirrors?
Favorite Answer
The young woman who was trying to criticize you was actually identifying herself as poorly informed. You don’t look at life through smoke and mirrors–you use smoke and mirrors to deceive someone concerning the truth of some matter.
My interpretation of the meaning of its use from this girl, is that she suspects your world-view is somehow not all you are saying it is. But she cannot understand the mechanics of the illusion, and can only suspect. In truth, the phrase itself is sufficiently cryptic to warrant being itself labelled as an example of ‘smoke and mirrors’. For, after all, what is this comment aiming to achieve? Where and how is she trying to capture your attention?
Peace.
