what type of figure of speech is “in my eyes”?

i know its a figure of speech because no one is actually in my eye…

is it an idiom? metaphor?

If you know, please answer, and an explanation would be VERY helpful! 🙂

idioms and metaphors are very similar.

an idiom is a popularised saying like ‘driving you round the bend’.

metaphor is saying something is something like ‘i feel run down today’.

so i guess that it’s a metaphor but the 2 are basically the same.
