What is the true origin of the word/phraseVeni, Vidi, Vici”?

I know what it means but I went back and forth with someone on this but now I need an outside educator. I said its an Italian word and agreed that it is a latin phrase but I still believe that the origin of the word is Italian. Can someone help?

It’s attributed to Julius Caesar. Translation: I came, I saw, I conquered.

Latin;

i came, i saw, i conquered.

said by Julius Caesar.

and when he was tired and the battle was boring, he’d say, veni vidi dormi…. i came, i saw, i slept lol♥
