Fear of escalators is Escalaphobia

Fear of parents-in law is Soceraphobia

The fear of losing a parent…hmm. Might be closely related to ordinary separation anxiety.

Escalaphobia. I don’t think it’s official but that’s the term used. Pretty much, the root word of the noun+phobia is a one-word description of a fear of something.

Checked out the phobia list, there are no specific names for either the fear of escalators or losing a parent..(separation anxiety?)….however if you are suffering from such phobias and go to a pyschiatrist, I am sure they will put a name to it!!

maybe for escalator…

Bathmophobia- Fear of stairs or steep slopes.

Climacophobia- Fear of stairs, climbing, or of falling downstairs

escalatophobia?

….Phobophobia — fear of fear itself!!!

don’t know the one for escalators or of having a parent die, but this one is interesting:

ARACHIBUTYROPHOBIA:

The fear of having peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth.
