What is the origen/ meaning of the word BOBALA??

So I now know the word is Bubalah! It is a term of endearment of sorts but what exactly does it mean?

I am told it’s a Hebrew word but then I don’t understand why my ITALIAN friend calls me this ( He wont tell me what it means, I don’t think he knows either.) He explained to me that his family called him this as a child. So where is the connection???

It means “sweetheart,” or, literally, “dolly / babe.”

It’s the diminutive (little) form of the Hebrew word “bubah” which means “doll.”

One Google result I saw for ‘bubalah’ seemed to suggest it is a term of endearment, meaning something like ‘sweetheart’.

Perhaps Bobala is just a westernised phonetic spelling.

Bobola also seems to be a surname but I wouldn’t like to venture a guess as to whether or not it’s related to ‘bubalah’ in that context.
