It’s where the things that you’re bidding on are laid out on tables, etc. around a room, and instead of the bidders all sitting in rows yelling out what they want to bid, you just go by the things on the tables and write down your bid on a sheet of paper next to the item. At the end of the night, whoever bid highest wins the item!

a silent auction is where instead of yelling out the amount of money you wish to bid there is a paper where your right it down on the paper it shows the amounts that other people have bid so you know what a high bid would be then after a certain amount of time someone looks at the list whoever has the highest bid wins the prize
