i would suggest researching Steve Spangler. he has some amazing science projects and most of the things he has you can buy at a local store.

Do an enviromental chemical toxicity experiment on plants.

Using everyday plants that you can purchase at a local place be sure to give every plant the same amount of measured water.

Then on half of the plants, expose them to all sorts of household chemicals. Daily mist them with 409, bathroom cleansers, dish detergent, etc……

Write your paper on how each group of plants responded.

Be sure both groups get the same amount of light, warmth, and water. The ONLY difference would be the chemical exposure.
