what does “The truth is in the details” mean?

Please dont assume that I haven’t a clue to its meaning.

I’m asking because I want to know how to use the expression correctly for a school leason that I want to present.

It means, (im saying perspectively) to look at the “fine print or details”..hmm for example.. have you read the book The Da’Vinci code by Dan Brown. It speaks about the paintings of Leonardo Da’Vinci where Leonardo actually paints secrets into his works, like little drawings of skulls in the background as such… and the things about The Last Supper with the hidden dagger, the disciple John( i think its John) who looks like a female and thus said to be the wife of jesus and all that… but anyways….. Its just to look carefully, not at the full picture.. the little dots, scratches, drips, and dashes for they’re the ones that actually will make the “truth itself” known. Here’s another summarised/easier example. A sneaky contract, its the fine print that makes it sneaky and to only know its sneaky you have to read the fine print, ’cause the “TRUTH IS IN THE DETAILS”
