In these examples, you could substitute “most” instead of “-est”. Most big, most fast, most strong, most weak.
If you are the “-est” of something, no one is more than you at that thing, by definition.

FYI, you can not have anything that is more or most unique. This is one of my pet peeves. Unique means “one of a kind”, so nothing can be more or most unique because you can’t have 2 or more of something there is only 1 of in the universe. Trust me.
