What does the N word mean?
Favorite Answer
The N word is code for a derogatory term for dark-skinned, usually African-American, people, and is possibly the most hateful word in American English. Though the word originally just referred to any of these dark-skinned people (I won’t say non-derogatorily, as it was coined by people who thought that these “N-words” were subhuman anyway), it has in the last 50 years come to refer to only the worst and ignorant among them (or bad and ignorant people in general) in some circles.
Still, given the history of hate involved in this word, it’s not a good word to use lightly. I curse like a sailor, and I refuse to use it. Like I said, it’s not just a word. That word carries hate with it.
It is a variation of ***** used by white people as a word of derision toward dark-skinned people, whether or not of African descent. The British especially used it for natives of India. It is also used by other dark-skinned people toward those of African descent. Then comes the use of a variation of the word among African-Americans as an affectionate sign of brotherhood.
discriminate blacks. Haven’t you heard of Kramer’s Racist Rants?
