He probably dosn’t mean it he just said it to “hurt your feelings”
Retarded is sort of like mentally, or phycially challenged.. people don’t use the word anymore except to bring others down
Ignore it or tell an adult because its a very mean thing to say 😉

If you do mean ‘retarded’, that seems to be a word that is still used in the US, but in the UK the word is outdated and offensive. We would say that a person has ‘a learning disability’ or ‘cognitive impairment’. Anyway it means that the person has some sort of brain damage which might affect their understanding, or ability to learn, to varying degrees. I think the word ‘retarded’ implies that the person is some how behind or beneath ‘normal’ (word used loosely) people, and I know some people with learning disabilities who are much cooler and enjoyable people than some without a disability.

I’d ignore the boy. “Retard” means something or someone that is slow, and is an insulting way of describing a person that has significant intellectual handicap (ie Downe’s Syndrome)
Obviously, if you are in school, and can type, and surf the net, you are smart, and he’s wrong, and he’s just saying that to try to annoy you.

Retarted means someone who ate so many tarts they became stupid.
Retarded, on the other hand, means dumb, or someone with a low level of intelligence.

It sounds like he called you retarded.
A retarded person has a low IQ and therefore he was trying to imply that you are dumb, and mentally deficient. He’s being a jerk! A nice person wouldn’t do that kind of name calling.
