some guy told me this… reach for the sky pocahontas. what does it mean?

I think it means you should try your best to reach your goals. Despite the obstacles along the way, it’s worth it in the end like how Pocahontas save her tribe and land from harm.

hard to know without the context…

“reach for the sky” is a way of saying “put your hands up”, or surrender. like in an old cops and robbers movie, the guy holding the gun says this…

pocahontas gives it a “cowboys and indians” feel… although if you are a woman of color, (brown skin, dark hair) it could have a slightly derogatory slant to it. (don’t rush to assume it, but if you got the feeling the statement was meant to make you uncomfortable, then you may be right!)

so difficult to know without context — but it’s not a common saying, otherwise. as far as i know…

if the guy who said it was irritated with you, it means something really demeaning and please dont bother knowing what it means, it will just hurt you, now if this was said in a loving way, i’m not sure how this statement can be put in a loving way, put more details, and if i see it, i will add more to my answer.
