What does “put words to my experience” mean?
Favorite Answer
If you want to tell anyone about an experience you’ve had, you need to be able to describe it, whether it’s in writing or verbally. It’s kind of like a movie made from a book. Someone writes a story based on an experience–putting words to his/her experience. Someone else reads the words and transforms them into visual action.
Everyone’s mind processes the same experience differently. Two people can be sitting next to each other on a park bench watching birds. One person might see a mother bird feeding babies while the other person might see the mother bird jamming something down the baby bird’s throat. It’s how our minds process what our eyes see. So, if you were to describe what you saw it might be different from what someone else says they saw. That’s why, sometimes it’s hard for the police to figure out what happened in an accident, because eye witnesses see things from different perspectives.
Putting it into words is supposed to give you a better understanding of what happened.
what was it really like? The terrain, the stunning views, that last 400 feet up the back of the dome itself.
