What does “I want my pound of flesh” a reference to? I guess what it’s from more than what it means.
I’ve been lead under the impression that it’s from something, though I’m not sure.

It means they want payment. It originally came from a play I believe where the lender would require one pound of the mans flesh for repayment if he was not able to do so.
