Actually ‘what time is it’ is ‘que hora es’ in spanish. ‘a que hora’ means ‘at what time’. Not the same thing. you wouldn’t say ‘what time is it should i go’, you would say, ‘at what time should i go’ . i’ve been taking spanish for 5 years and i have an exchange student from spain

It is Spanish slang for what’s happening. It literally means What’s waving; just like English the real meaning does not make much sense when you use it as slang. I am a high school Spanish teacher, but I once lived in Mexico as an exchange student. Que onda is something that the teens would say. I was not taught it in school. It is much cooler than what you learn in school lol. You can also say que buena onda or que mala onda and that is close to saying something like that’s cool or that is not cool.

It means: “what time.”

For example: “A que hora vas a la escuela?”

“What time do you go to school?”
