What may seem like interference could actually be a job lead. You never know what job could be perfect for you until you learn more about it. Every position my husband has held was obtained through his network of friends, family, and business contacts. Of course, if you are employed, it’s best to keep things quiet at work. If you have an interview on your lunch break, DON’T show up to your casual office in a suit! Change somewhere else. And be aware that some job listings that do not list a company name are actually listed by companies who want to see which of their employees are planning to jump ship. Others are simply jobs being filled by agents who specialize in placing employees.

I guess it depends on their temprement, but i think unless i make a goal public i won’t have any commitment to it myself. If you were completely immune to procrastination, private might work.

I think if you kept it private people would nag you to do other stuff too, e.g. “stop reading the paper and mow the lawn!”
