More then anything it “sounds” like lazy tounge. Try replacing the “S” at the end of the words with a “Z” so it soundz correct. After a while your tounge will stop being lazy.

You didn`t give any examples and I can`t think of any…so I would be very prone and assured to say that you have a lisp. That being the use of the tongue and the teeth to pronounce a word that may not be the way the word was intended. For example if you say “kisses” like this….”kithes”…if you say “whispers” like..”withpers”and if you say “thithers” instead of “scissors”….you have a speech impediment called a lisp and it can be corrected. I would suggest you contact your physician. Good Luck.

Just an additional thought. Your problem is called “sibilance”. Your question indicates that you have given it serious thought. Good for you. The most careful attention to articulation can be defeated by irregularity in the upper front teeth such that spaces create natural whistles. A dentist could help if that is the problem.

The correct sound of ‘s’ at the end of a word is usually-

s if there is a ‘ss’ as in miss, boss, hostess. There are some exceptions like bus.

z if there is a ‘s’ as in his, was, hers, trees, exercise.

Maybe you pronounce all ‘s’ that way because you thought that was the correct way to say them.

It could be just a habit. My son kind of does the same thing, but repeats the “ssss” sound. So he says, “yesss. sss. sss.” I don’t really think there’s anything wrong with your tongue. Especially if you don’t have trouble pronouncing any other sounds.
