does anybody know anything about the silver certificate like why is it called that andand why is a noth called a note….. please help me and thank u very much

A silver certificate is an older version of American currency that you used to be able to exchange for silver. This was stopped a long time ago.

a silver certificate was currency that was backed by the usa’s silver deposits…such as the british pound is a silver cert in a way…a bank note is a currency that is backed only by the deposits in a bank in this case the usa has a substantial gold deposit in fort knox and thats what we use to support our currency
