“I don’t care to…” means “I would be glad to…” I think it derives from something like “It wouldn’t bother me to…”

When someone leaves a group, it is polite to say: “Come up the creek with me.”

“This evening” is any time after noon.

And, you don’t “push” a button. You “mash” it.
