stationary? if oscillatory comes from oscillate, which means to move back and forth, then maybe stationary could mean to stay still. Since are and is cannot be interchanged, i suppose it might make sense, but i’ve never heard of a stationary word, other than the word stationary itself. go ahead, vote thumbs-down for my answer…see what I care!!!
