Me and you or you and I??

Is there a special way to remember when you use these. I have no idea so I think I sound like an idiot at times.

The way to remember is to think how you would say it if you were just talking about yourself.

examples:

“You and I went to the store.” That is right because you can take out the other person and you have “I went to the store.”

“Gabe went to the store with Harry and me.” That is right because if you take out Harry it reads “Gabe went to the store with me.”

You and me when it’s an object; you and I when it’s the subject. Think of it without the “you and” and you’ll get it right. Example: Me went to the movies? Have lunch with I? See what I mean?

You and I. Just think of it as polite. You put the other person FIRST, instead of yourself

You and I.

A hint – drop the “you” and see how it sounds.

Me and you went to the store. Me went to the store.

You and I went to the store. I went to the store.

Got it?

It’s “me” when the plural is “us”, and “I” when the plural is “we”.
