Looking for funny words?
Does anyone know any uncommon words with funny definitions? Please include the definition. My current favorite is “Resistentialism”, which is the theory that inanimate objects hold hostile desires towards humans. For example, Terry Pratchet best described it as “the tendency of garden hoses, no matter how carefully one coils and stores them, to unloop themselves overnight and tie the bicycle to the lawnmower.” Or how about the word “defenestrate”, which quite literally means to push out of a window. I’d love to hear some other examples!
