Is your name difficult to spell or pronounce? What kinds of variations have you gotten?

For me, my name isn’t difficult to pronounce, but I recieve so many variations for the spelling:

Garet, Garret, Garett,

Garrette – Um, I’m not a girl!

Gariet – Where in the world do you hear an I?

Garnet – Some people actually see the second r and think “n” I guess.

And finally – Grant – I this person was just blind or something.

Anyway, what about your names?

It was Saltalamacchia…but he lost his crown to Marc Rzepczynski who made his debut for the Jays two days ago BQ: Cubs I’m pretty sure Rzepczynski is a Polish name, but he was born in California. Edit…ok, this got me thinking about what the all time difficult-to-pronounce-or-spell lineup would be…. C: Jarrod Saltalamacchia 1B: Doug Mientkiewicz 2B: Mark Grudzielanek 3B: Billy Grabarkewitz SS: Yuniesky Betancourt OF: Carl Yastrzemski OF: Wladimir Balentien OF: Ryan Radmanovich P: Marc Rzepczynski P: Jeff Samardzija P: Mark Lukasiewicz A little heavy on Mariners and Poles…but it’s a start.

I don’t think that your name is difficult to pronounce and the first spelling that comes to mind is “Garrett”

I changed my first name a few months ago and my former first name was Robin, which I think is easy to pronounce, but I was constantly asked how to spell it. With a Y or an I? One B or two B’s and I was often asked if I was a male or female while standing directly in front of people — what are they blind?

just me
My name isn’t hard to spell or pronounce, but it’s not a name you hear too often, so people sometimes call me by the wrong name. My name is Marlo and I have been called Marla and Margo more times than I can count. It doesn’t even bother me anymore. People want to spell my name Marlow or Marlowe. I guess they think my first name is a last name or something. The strangest way someone has ever wanted to spell my name is Marleaux. Sorry… it’s not a French name! Thanks for playing!

☼ kayla ☼
My actual name is Kayla… i’ve also seen it spelt as

Kaila

Kaylia (no idea why the I is there)

Chela

Keila (this is probably my favorite spelling variation)

it’s not that hard to pronounce, but a lot of people say the “ay” wrong… they say “ale” (like in pale) instead.. so it sounds like KALE-A which is kind of annoying lol… it’s what my relatives in New York would call me…It also drives me nuts when people call me Kyla!

anyway, good question! here’s a star =]

My name is Anabelle 🙂

These are the different spelling variations that I know:

-Annabelle

-Anabell

-Anaboll (haha I know weird, but that’s my friends’ name)

I don’t like when people call me Ann for short, and a lot of people call be Anabella instead, or Isabelle.
