is this sentence right?

The foods here deserve its name?

I think it should be “theirs” not “its”, or “food here deserves” not “foods here deserve”.

its not right. since the subject is “foods” which is plural, the pronoun that goes with this should also be plural, therefore, “its” is not the appropriate pronoun. It should be “their”. But if you want to use”food” as its subject, “its” is right. take a look at these sentences.

1. The food here deserves its name.

2. The foods here deserve their names.

3. The foods here are theirs (in case you want to use theirs)
