“Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. Stockholm syndrome is also sometimes discussed in reference to other situations with similar tensions, such as battered person syndrome, rape cases, child abuse cases and bride kidnapping. The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from 23 August to 28 August in 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their victimizers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. The term Stockholm Syndrome was coined by the criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, who assisted the police during the robbery, and referred to the syndrome in a news broadcast.”

I am going to make a point with my response and I know some JW will take it out of context but Nazism is really the same thing. Many very smart people allowed themselves to be taken in by this little worm with a weird mustache. However, it is my opinion that the JW’s are relative harmless until they cover for themselves in crime or lie to prove that their faith is the only faith and even then they are careful not to cross any serious lines. Other religions have these very same problems as well but have designed there faith base ideas based on the society norm. Jw’s love to give normal society the middle finger and that is why other religions excepted by normal society have such a hard time with them. Nazism is an extreme example but it does show how people will follow someone who is even a little twisted. Jim Jone is another extreme example of how people trying to do the right thing can get stuck in a cult. Jim Jones people would defend their faith just like the JW’s defend theirs or any other religion for that matter. Take politics for another example, you have the left and you have the right and you have the extremes on both sides as well. A blind partisan is almost impossible to be logical with, it is the same thing. Anyway that is my thoughts and my opinion on this issue.

It refers to kidnapped people starting to get attached to their kidnappers and taking their side or falling in love with them.

Yes it would be great in a song. Just find something to rhyme with syndrome.
