In marigolds by eugenia w. collier, why does Lizabeth destroy Miss Lottie’s Marigolds?
I read the story, but i didn’t get it.

She destroys the marigolds because she envies Miss Lottie for having hope when she doesn’t and is going through a huge crisis at home. The fact that Miss Lottie dares to hope even despite where they live just make her furious and shes going through puberty which is making her confused as well.
