i am a social worker at a school with cildren with special(mentally) needs.any ideas about how to proceed?

i need maybe a form of social history that includes information about the kid’s problem and the history of parents etc. also what else can i do with groops and the kids?is there anyone who knows what he is talking about and can help me?a good social worker?

It is likely there is already a file with such information. Children receiving special education services are required to have a psycho-educational assessment at least every 3 years where that information you need should be located.

Not knowing anything about your specific students I can say a good group program is any kinds of social skill instruction for students. It seems that most children’s behavior, mental health or other problems are closely related to poor social skills, lack of connectedness, difficulty solving conflicts, anger management and these types of skills can effectively be taught in group settings using a variety of social skills materials.

I work at a school with children with mentally disabilities and we have files of each kid that shows their diagnosis, medication, history etc. Maybe your school has it too. Ask the HR or the corporate office or something. If you work with the kid directly you are allowed to look at the file.
