Gene Hackman was 30 when he began his studies at the Pasadena Playhouse to pursue a career in acting. He primarily worked as a TV and stage actor until his small role in “Lilith” in 1964. He was 34.
Dennis Farina, a former police detective, was working as a police film consultant. This led to his first small role in the movie “Thief” in 1981. He was 37.
Stage theatre might be a broader horizon, if that’s any help.
if you have the talent, you can do it. just start slow, do some acting classes, go to auditions. you might not make it big, but sometimes local theater and such is a lot more fun!
Good luck!
