I don’t want answers like to not skip–but how to do it? is there anybody who know that some people skip agrade b/c of being overaged? Please!! I am really hurt mentally to be in here. PLease!!! But tell the effects would happen in high school like concerning loss of courses. but I am strongly determined that i can do in next grades without difficulty. Please help me!! please!!

it’s probably too late. Especially if you’re not gifted. Usually it’s the young kid who does well and is still getting straight As. And it’s the teachers that usually nominate the kid because they can see s/he is not being challenged.

the age thing really isn’t a big deal and will matter even less as you get older.

This actually would have to be done before the school year starts. If the school felt that you were advanced enough, they could have allowed you to test and possibly skip 7th grade. Please have your parents talk to the school guidance counselor about this. Skipping grades is not done because of age. It is recommended on knowledge and learning ability. What you learn each year are building blocks for the followng year. If you dont have all the supportive blocks in place the tower will collapse. You dont want that to happen to you in high school.

I’m in the UK so I don’t know exactly how the US system works.

But if the way you’ve typed this question is typical of your standard of English, then maybe you’re not ready to skip a grade.

I’m not trying to be nasty to you, it’s just that the way you’ve written this question is not the standard I would expect from a 14 year old.

Your written English is not too good. Your parents can try for you but it is doubtful.

Your age barely matters at all. What’s important is your ability.
