How to use possessive pronoun when you share something with others? “John & I’s cat” or “John & mine cat”?

What is the right way to say it with possessive pronoun?

Both ways (John and I’s & John and mine) don’t look right to me, but then I don’t know how to say it in the correct way.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. The NWT of Nathan Knorr has changed quite a few verses to fit in with their doctrine; on Jesus; John 1:1 Zechariah 12:10 Colossians 1:16-20 Titus 2:13 Hebrews 1:8 on the subject of eternal hell; Matthew 25:46 the holy spirit 1 Corinthians 14:14-16 1 Timothy 4:1 Jude 19 this deceit from the literal grammar of the bible is done to deliberately deceive potential converts into believing that the bible supports their erroneous doctrine. The translation committee that was responsible for the NWT were and remain anonymous, doesn’t that speak for itself? I had a two hour conversation with two JW’s yesterday, I found that they do not know all they think they do about the foundations of their faith, either that or they just choose to ignore it.

I would have said our cat.

Or John and I have a cat.

I’d say John’s and my cat. This means John’s cat and my cat.

the 1st person singular possessive form of “me” is “my”..

therefore, you can use “John and my cat”.

but you can also use the 1st person plural possessive and combine John and yourself, making it “our cat”

suggestion 2 is much better..

Well, if it belonged to one person you would say “john’s cat” or “my cat”…….so since it belongs to both, it would be John’s and my cat”………….
