I’m from northern Ohio
2. Pecan: Puh-con – accent on second syllable
3. Caramel: cara-mel – accent on the first syllable
No doubt I’m mispronouncing – I’m a southerner from the piedmont of NC. NC has four distinct accents: mountains, piedmont, eastern and outer banks. So other tarheel pronunciations will vary from mine.
