What is a word for a person who is renting something from another person? Renter? – Rentee?(i dont think this is even a word) Leaseholder?? WHAT?

leaseholder, lessee, renter, tenant are all correct.

Is the person renting a home? Then it would be “tenant”. If it’s a car or some other piece of equipment, lessee would do, or I guess “renter” would be ok.

Renter is correct, but you can possibly have another more accurate word depending on the context.

if you rent an apartment you are the renter, however if you sign a lease you are the leasee. if you rent a car you are the customer, if you rent a motel room you are the patron. …go figure.
