How can you tell whether a syllable is stressed or unstressed?

I gotta find out which syllable in soem sentences are stressed or unstressed. each entence, theres going to be 5 unstressed and 5 stressed. (iambic pentameter) problem is, how to tell the difference.

i asked my teacher and he said somethign i didnt understand (i forget now). i didnt wanna ask more cuz i had already gotten yelled at fer being alte (with detention) haha second day of school! damn it! lol

Sweetie, just get out you dictionary and look up the words. The dictionary will have the stressed syllable marked. You may need to look in the front of your dictionary to see what that mark looks like.

Try to be on time for school. Don’t hesitate to ask your teacher for help. That is what the teacher is there for. Work on your spelling.
