Gobstoppers are NOT fictional candy – they are real candy. They are huge round hard balls of hard candy – sold in the UK

They are so big when you buy them – it’s hard to get them in your mouth (gob – slang for mouth) and when you do get them in your mouth then you cannot talk (so they ‘stop’ you from talking) – after they melt down in your mouth a bit, then they can be moved around in the mouth, and they will finally

dissolve.

Its not fictional candy, you can buy gobstoppers at the store. I ate them as a child.

What would you like to know about them?
