Dose anyone know the word for…?
an object that presents the past or memories of someone or something, example a friend is going away, and he/she comes to give you a small gift to remember her/him. I remember there’s a word for that but I’m so frustrated now that I can’t think of it.

Nostalgia is a good word for the feeling that object gives, but not for the object itself.

The closest thing i can think of is nostalgia. but it wouldnt be when someone gives something to you. But later in life when you use it or have it you get the feeling of being younger and being with your friend again.

the FEELING you are talking about is, I think, best known as nostalgia.
the object itself—a memento, a piece of memorabilia…other than that, not sure….
