The number one reason you use a comma is to break up a run on sentence so that it doesn’t keep going on and on and before you know it you have a very very very long sentence that has no pauses (rule number 2) for the reader to catch their breath and if you haven’t noticed this is what you would call a run on sentence with NO punctuation other then the period right about here.
