I reckon some people just don’t care about the image of themselves that they portray when they post questions or answers riddled with spelling and/or grammatical errors. Having said that, you realise that only those of us intelligent enough to spell words correctly on our own that even notice or bother to spell check anyway.

I think half of these atrocious spellers probably think that their English is perfect (or prefect, as I often see!).

I honestly don’t remember what I thought then – but I believe now that it makes us worse – we move very fast and expect that things like spell checkers will make us seem less stupid – unfortunately – not everything has a spell checker most people are too in a hurry to use the things that do.
