That’s 2 words and technically doesn’t rhyme with it anyway.

The definition of rhyme is: Correspondence of sound between words or the endings of words. The definition of correspondence is: A close similarity, connection, or equivalence. So I would have to agree that those words rhyme. Although, if you were writing a verse that ended in orange, and had to find a way to work “door hinge” into the rhyming verse, my guess is that it would sound forced.

There once was a man from Nantucket

Who carried his fruit in a bucket.

He dropped a ripe orange

That was crushed in a door hinge

To which he replied, “Ah, well …I’ve got a whole pail full.”

Of course they rhyme!

i don’t believe it rhymes… My friend Angela wouldn’t appreciate you pronouncing her name Ingela…, likewise the “i” in hinge does not rhyme with the “a” in orange.

I guess it could, depending on your accent. I still think orange is an un-rhymable word…….xxx
