Not in the cases if you are naming the tree or flower itself such as daisy or maple tree. There are though some name to plants that do require them due to the proper name in it..such as a Douglas fir tree. So be wary of where ya add them ok?

When you analyse it, it’s a particular species of tree, so the River Birch is a proper name, and it should be capitalised. Having said that, it seems to me you should trust your instincts on this and if it feels much more natural without capitals, I’d go with that. I doubt very much if readers will object either way. Your judgment should really be, what will the readers find most natural.

If you’re saying something like “an oak tree” or “some daisies”, then no. If you’re using the scientific name, the genus name should be capitalized, and it should be italicized.

No, they do not.

Ex. Tammy loves nature. She enjoys sitting among the natural beauty of the oak and maple trees, and seeing tulips and lilacs swaying in the spring breeze.

Actually, no. Here’s my example:

I love daffodils.
