Difference between no one and none?

Hi,

What is the difference between no one and none?In what different contexts do we use the two?

WHich is more appropriate in the sentence below?

People can debate the aesthetic merits of these overwrought, disquieting, sometimes gruesome works of art, but no one/none can dispute their creators’ mastery of the paintbrush as a blunt instrument.

Being that my knowledge and understanding of grammar and the english language is based mostly off of intuition and not rules; I will do my best to answer your question. No one is definitely only used when speaking of people or persons. None can refer to objects and only to persons if those people or group of people were previously mentioned.

No one can stand alone but none has to be clarified either before the use of the word or after it. Hope this helps

Oh by the way, you should use no one in your sentence
