Definition of musical term “N.C.”?

I know most of my music terms, but the abbreviation “N.C.” can be found frequently in most of my music. I’ve searched for the term but can’t find anything about it. If someone could provide the actual term (and/or the translation if not English), that would help greatly.

No Chord

——————————————————————————–

A directive placed over a note (or a series of notes) in a composition signifying that the note (s) should be performed without accompaniment. This is typically found in popular music notation with either a melody with chordal accompaniment, two-staff score with chordal accompaniment, or a simple chord progression. N.C. is the abbreviated form of No Chord.

P.S. If you go to the source link, you can see an example. The example they give has two eight notes (an E-flat and an F)… however… those two notes are not enough info to determine what “chord” they are a part of… that’s why…

Correct “posture” is how you sit or stand when playing an instrument so as not to be in pain after you have finished playing it.
