You can add “like” to any number of words: treelike, rocklike, starlike… only those get pretty weird in places and dull in others, huh. In (some) phrases: clammed shut, he was felled, she nested, that bond crested, they are horsey, gopher (go-fer), he has horseteeth, she is rabbitlike, she rabbited (sp)away at her food, he made me a whale of an offer, she shot me down, I hit her up, they made hay while (etc), where the sun don’t shine, the boys’ voices were as nightingales’, dark as a grave, buckets of money, found a pocket in the traffic, the car was accordianned (sp), her furry old cheeks, he’s an ace at that, she has nine lives, she cradled his head (?), he had a duckwalk, pigeon-toed, a rain of hair fell down her back, this is going down the drain, log in your hours (?), raise the roof, screaming meemies (?), blow it off, what a nag she is, upside the head with a frying pan, you could’ve knocked me sideways, flying high, tripping (many ways),
and now I think I hear the fat lady sing… whew
