The words themselves may seem a little difficult for a 2nd grader-but they are all “fun” words that mean very simple things and should be easy to understand-especially if the kids are only learning one or two at a time. Plus, they can go home afterwards and wow Mom and Dad! 🙂

yes it is a real word. I forgot what it means but it is in a huge english dictionary i have. trust me the kids will love that word!

herpetologist – a zoologist who studies reptiles and amphibians

zoologist – a specialist in the branch of biology dealing with animals

biology – the science of life
