“I Can Still Feel You”

Annie had returned to her cousins’ home and was packing . After four weeks, it was time to return to America. The phone rang:

Dylan Stewart:”Annie…..I ….I can’t believe this is your last day here.” He sighed heavily…….”Anyway…. I’ll come over around 9 AM. That okay with you?”

Annie sat on the edge of the bed. She cared deeply for Dylan. She knew he had fallen in love with her. She also knew she had a job back home in Virginia…….. She had responsibilities….(4) “I Wonder How We Can Survive This Romance?” All at once she knew she wasn’t alone. She turned around slowly.

John: “Hello, Hon.” It was the spirit of her husband. (You’ll need to read the FIRST story in the SCOTLAND series to understand this fully.)

Annie:”Ohhhh, John. Hi sweetheart. Have you been with me this whole time in Scotland?”

John :(3)” I Hear The Laughter, I Taste The Tears.”

Annie:”I don’t know what I’m going to do, John. ”

John:(6) ” Oh, Can’t You See It Baby? You love him….. You simply love him.”

Annie :” Does this hurt you, John……. Me loving Dylan?”

John smiled …. “My Annie. I want you to love again.”

Annie reached out for him, but he was gone.

As Dylan drove her to the airport….. “I feel like a character in one of your ‘Gunsmoke’ stories….What’s -his-name…..Kevin Dunbar.”

Annie : ” Kevin Dunbar? Why?”

Dylan :” Because you left him……. Don’t leave me, Annie.” He reached out for her hand. “I don’t think I can be (1) Oceans Apart Day After Day, from you.” They drove in silence.

At the depature gate , Dylan held her tightly……”Please come back to me, Annie.”

Annie:” I will. I promise.”

Dylan:(2) “I Will Be Right Here Waiting For You, darling. I am probably a damn fool for not following you back to the States.

(5) But In The End If I’m With You,I’ll Take That Chance. Take all the time you need.” He kissed her and touched her cheek with his hand. “I love you, SunnyMac.”

Annie boarded the plane. An hour into the flight, she drifted off into a fitful sleep. Visions of Dylan, John and her “Gunsmoke” characters danced through her mind. She opened her eyes slowly as someone sat down next to her.

John:” Hi baby.”

Annie smiled……. “YOU, again!” John laughed. “I miss you, John.”

He put his hand over hers…….”I feel you, John. I can STILL feel you! Stay with me. Please don’t leave.”

John:” I’ll stay for as long as you need me.”
