Can you look up a word in the dictionary, that is not a real word?

for example, say you are playing a word game and you think that the person you are playing use a word that is not really a word like funner. Since funner is not a really word, are you really looking that word up? think about it.

Try to find the word.

If it’s not found in the dictionary, then it’s not a word that can be used in the game!

Actually, if you look up “fun” in the dictionary, “funner” is listed as one of the inflections of the word.

If you mean a book by”real dictionary” I was probably in high school, unless the English-Spanish one I had in college counts. BQ: I just type “dictionary” in Google and use that.
