Can someone explain to me what does this sensence mean?
Before anything, I just want to say English is my third language. I was trying to register for a college science lab and I e-mailed the teacher and one of the things he said was:
“Students in the day classes get precedence for the day labs.”
Does this means its better to take day labs because it looks better on the transcript or just day labs are in front of the schedule than the night labs. I guess I don’t understand what exactly precedence means in this sentence.
I appreciate any reply.

If you take the day class you get priority for the day labs. If you choose the night class, then you lose out on that priority. I hope this helps you out. Good luck with your classes!

In the email from your teacher it means that day students get priority access to the day labs. If you take a day class you get to use the day labs before anyone else, as you would be seen as first in line.

Day class students are favored over night class students for the day labs.
Day class students are more likely to get into the day labs.

I think he is saying that if you want to use the lab during the day it is better to sign up for the day classes. because if you sign up for the other classes the lab might not be available to you as the day class can use the lab first.

I think it just means priority, or first choice.
Day students wanting day labs are given priority over night students wanting day labs.
