It can be done, and it will make sense if done correctly.

Perhaps it can be made linguistically acceptable, but there’s no way it’s going to make sense with that many unnecessary ‘had’s.

Edit: I take that back, there’s no way that can be made linguistically acceptable. There’s just too much redundancy. I defy the asker to post and justify the ‘proper’ punctuation.
