Anything wrong with this sentence?

“When I lost my keys, I felt worried about spending the afternoon outside my house.”

1. Is there anything wrong in the above sentence?

2. Has the word “worried” been used correctly in this sentence?

I think the sentence is correct. Would like to confirm.

Thanks.

Nothing wrong, but you can make it better by changing it to

“When I lost my keys, I was worried about spending the afternoon locked out of my house.”

Hard to tell. It looks okay. Did you ask the teacher why it was wrong? Maybe he thought that the sentence conflicted on the word “worried,” because it is “understood” that worry is an emotion, so you don’t really have to use the word “felt”.

The sentence is grammatically correct, and your use of “worried” is fine. However, it sounds more natural to simply say “I worried about…”. The verb “to feel” is usually matched with adjectives that do not have verb forms (such as, “I felt hungry” or “I felt happy”). Since the adjective “worried” comes from the verb “to worry,” your use of “felt” could be omitted here for more conciseness.

It’s fine. If there is any nit to be picked, it is the need for the word “felt”.
